Anima - Online & Telephone Triage Service
Important: Changes from 27th April 2026
Anima is open for routine requests from 7:30AM until the practice closes at 6:30pm. These requests will be reviewed and responded to within 2 working days. If your request is clinical this will be passed along to one of our GPs, if this is an administrative request it will be passed along to the most relevant member of staff.
For all urgent GP appointment requests please contact the surgery by calling 01629 733205, this may result in a booked appointment or a 'sit and wait' time slot dependent on availability. You do not need to call at 8am to arrange this.
To support our patients calling in the morning extra staff are put in place to answer the phone in the first half hour, including our administrative and management team.
Anima is for use by our registered patients only. and any requested submitted by patients who are not registered with us cannot be processed. If you are not a patient but wish to be, please see our Join the Practice page.
If you are wishing to temporarily register please contact the practice in the first instance as we may not always have appointments and you may need more appropriate sign-posting. You can contact the surgery by calling: 01629 733205.

- You should contact the out of hours service on 111 if: you need urgent medical advice or consultation after 18:30pm, Monday to Friday, or all day on a Saturday or Sunday

What is Anima?
Anima is an online consultation platform that allows you to submit requests to your GP practice. Using Anima, you will be able to submit requests tailored to whatever medical problem or admin request you have. Anima will ask you all the same questions that a doctor or someone else at your GP practice would usually ask, meaning they will have all the information they need to help you and make a decision about next steps. Anima is able to help your GP manage health consultations, administrative tasks, send communication, all from one platform.
It's important to know that Anima is not an AI doctor: Anima does not make diagnoses, and Anima doesn't decide what should happen next. It is still your GP practice that decides on the most appropriate care for you.
All requests that you submit through Anima are sent to your GP practice, and a member of staff at your GP practice will be the one who reviews your request and decides what should happen next. Anima just makes the process quicker and more convenient for both you and your GP practice!

Is there an Anima app?
There is nothing you (as the patient) need to download to start using Anima. You can just login to your account from your desktop or mobile device to start submitting requests to your GP.
Is Anima safe and secure?
Anima has been approved by NHS Digital to be used by your GP practice and the other systems involved in your care. The NHS has a lengthy assurance process to make sure we meet the highest standards of safety and security.
Your data is safe and is shared only with your GP practice for the purposes of your direct care. Your data is stored and sent securely using industry best practices, and Anima only collects the data that is necessary to allow your GP practice to provide you with care.
I do not have a computer or smartphone
In order to utilise Anima's many features and benefits, you will need:
- An email address
- A smartphone (with SMS capability)
- A computer
Alternatively, you can still contact your GP practice by telephone or by your usual other means.
